At this week-long invitational, artists will be traveling and painting scenes captured throughout the island of Maui, and will also come together to paint live at pre-scheduled public painting venues in West Maui and the Lahaina area.
All events are open to the public. Come watch as artists from across Hawaii and the US mainland create their paintings on location! Then join us as they bring their week’s worth of paintings to the show and celebration at Village Gallery in Lahaina on the 2nd weekend: Friday February 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of 2026.
Kick-off Paint Out with All Artists at Hanakao’o Park (Canoe Beach) Lahaina
Join all participating artists at the inaugural public event for the 2025 Plein Air Invitational! Come see the artists paint on location, en plein air, in the medium of their choice.
The Hanakao’o Park and Kaanapali beach walk have rich histories, with many iconic images to capture, with views of the mountains, Pacific Ocean, and the neighboring islands of Lāna‘i and Moloka‘i. The humpback whales this time of year will make for a spectacular way to spend a Saturday morning.
Hanakao’o Beach Park is located off of Honoapiilani Highway adjacent to the Kaanapali Hyatt Hotel. Look for the Sign on the highway.
Celebration hosted at The Village Gallery
Meet the artists and see their fresh-off-the-easel paintings at the end of the Opening Kick Off painting event.
Join us at Village Gallery in the Lahaina on Saturday Feb. 14th at 12pm as we feature newly created works from the artists and display their first official painting of the week long event.
All paintings from invitational artists will be offered for purchase.

Sunset Paint Out with all Artists: D.T. Fleming Beach & Ritz Carlton in Kapalua
Gather at Fleming Beach and across the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua property, stretching up toward the hotel. With sweeping ocean views and the islands of Molokaʻi and Lāna‘i on the horizon, experience artists painting en plein air as they capture the changing light at the end of the day.
Join us at the Ritz Carlton Plantation Ballroom at 7pm for a free lecture and slide show written by Jean Stern and presented by Rick Delanty.
Show and Sale at Village Gallery Lahaina
Join us for a traditional Hawaiian blessing at 4:45 p.m.
Sales, viewing, awards and celebrating run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Join us as we unveil an exceptional collection of new works. Be among the first to experience these newly framed paintings, elegantly displayed at Lahaina’s Village Gallery in its new location next to Bank of Hawaii.
Sales will continue Saturday, February 21 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday, February 22nd 9am to Noon
Quick Draw with All Artists
Plein Air artists will be capturing the magic and history of Lahaina Come enjoy the morning and see how many artists you can encounter! Fresh paintings from this mornings locations will be available to purchase at Village Gallery at Lahaina Cannery Shops.
Final Showing at The Village Galleries Lahaina
Last call to take home that special piece! Come over to the gallery on Sunday for the final hours of the Plein Air Show and Sale.
Bid aloha to the artists, and see their newly created works hung in the gallery until 12pm.
The gallery transforms back to itʻs local fine arts collection after noon, so be sure to arrive early as we wrap up the Paint Maui 2026 Plein Air Invitational.
